Windows Desktop Search Available for XP

If you read last months Vista article, you may recall kind of nodding off when I went on and on about the new search capabilites. I really love the new search - it's fast, complete and intuitive, and a big part of the reason it gets harder for me to go back to XP everyday. You can type in a search term and it will pull up not only related
documents and files, but also programs and email that include the
search term.
As it turns out, you don't have to take my word for it - Microsoft has released Windows Desktop Search for XP, so you can download it and see for yourself. (And even better, it's free! Validation is required, but otherwise this is quick and easy) I put it on my laptop last week, and it's great, great, great, as well as blazingly fast. (Although I do have 2GB of RAM on my laptop, which is more than most PCs out there right now, so you'll have to let me know how it works for you. I suspect it will still be pretty fast.) It runs as a service within Windows, and it is also used by Office 2007, so if you're thinking of getting the new version of office, this will be especially useful for you.
I can't encourage you enough to try this out! You can get the download here: Windows Desktop Search
